James Wright served as a Pharmacist's Mate and was stationed in the South Pacific at the end of World War II. The letters published here chronicle his thoughts and activities as they relate to the end of the war, and as he awaits a ship to take him home. There are also several letters from his family, located in the Seattle area, describing the homefront as they transition to peacetime.
