USS LSM-201

The Landing Ship, Medium, USS LSM-201, was built at Dravo Corporation, Wilmington, Delaware, and was commissioned on April 14, 1944.   Following her commissioning, she was assigned to the Pacific and took part in the Iwo Jima Campaign, February-March 1945.   Decommissioned on May 16, 1946, LSM-201 was sold for scrapping that November.  

A model of USS LSM-201 was on display at the In Harm's Way:  Pacific section at the National Museum of the U.S. Navy, Bldg. 76, until 2022.
