1943:  June 4:   Attack on German U-boat, U-603

TBF aircraft from USS Bogue (CVE-9) attacked German (Type VIIC) U-boat, U-603, in the Atlantic on June 4, 1943.   Though U-603 was not sunk, it was forced to submerge thus saving a nearby LCI convoy from attack.   On March 1, 1944, USS Bronstein (DE-189) sank U-603 in the North Atlantic.
