Title: Musket, British
Caption: British naval musket, signed on lockplate "Jordan 1743", quite likely used in the American Revolution. Exceptionally short 31 1/2" smoothbore barrel with British markings. This piece fitted for a bayonet but, like many naval muskets, has no sling swivels as it was normally stowed in a rack on board ship.
