LST-710 was laid down at Jeffersonville, Ind., by the Jeffersonville Boat & Machine Co.; launched on 28 June 1944; sponsored by Mrs. Maude B. Shricker; and commissioned on 24 July 1944.
During World War II, LST-710 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific theater and participated in the Lingayen Gulf landing in January 1945. She was redesignated APB-49 and named Accomac on 1 August 1945.
LST-710 earned one battle star for World War II service.
