USN 708706:  Grumman F6F Hellcat, September 1952.  Navy Launches Robot Plane to Strike Target in Korea.  A U.S. Navy F6F aircraft, equipped with special electronic equipment and armed with a powerful warhead was sent aloft recently directed to its target by an especially equipped AD-2 control plane and made to crash into objective.  This special aircraft is designed primarily for use against heavily defended targets, as the control plane can remain miles away from the target area and high above.  The Navy F6F robot plane is launched from Boxer.    Photograph released September 19, 1952.  Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
