428-GX-K-31462: USS Enterprise (CVAN-65), 1966.  Navy heads are bowed in prayer on board USS Enterprise (CVAN-65) during memorial services for airman lost in combat over Vietnam. The services include presentations of the colors, the National Anthem, reading of scriptures, the Navy Hymn, a 21-round volley by the ship’s saluting battery, and taps.  Both Catholic and Protestant chaplains officiate the war’s most solemn occasion.  Photographed by PH1 W. M. Powers, 14 April 1966.
