80-G-K-1194 (Color):  LCVP training French Foreign Legion troops, March 1944.   Landing on a North African beach, during amphibious exercises in circa late 1943 or early 1944.  They appear to have U.S. rifles, uniforms and equipment. The landing craft is a U.S. Navy LCVP.  Note barbed wire beach obstructions in the foreground.   The original Kodachrome transparency was received by the Naval Photographic Science Laboratory in March 1944.   Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
