26-G-4365:  Normandy Invasion, June 1944.  Britishers Join Coast Guardsmen in July 4th Fireworks.  Coast Guardsmen and British Army men plug their ears as Coast Guardsman Everett L. Garner touches a match to the fuse on an oversized firecracker in observance of the Fourth of July “Somewhere in England”.   Caricatures of Hitler and a Japanese war lord were scratched on the giant explosive to give the blast more zest.  The British soldiers are, left to right:  Corporal Bob Jolley; Corporal Tom Herden, and Private Joe Hill., July 4, 1944.
