LC-Lot-803-6: Aleutian Islands Campaign, June 1942 - August 1943. Allied Invasion of Kiska, August 15-24, August 1943. Kiska Landing, August 15, 1943. Japanese Dog Takes to New Masters. Left on Kiska Island by the Japanese, this dog soon found new friends among the American forces. This was a first day scene outside the Japanese central telephone control shack.
