80-G-54503: Battle of Attu, May 11-29, 1943

80-G-54503: Aleutian Islands Campaign, June 1942 - August 1943.  Battle for Attu, May 1943.    American soldiers landing at Holtz Bay find a Japanese victim of Army Air Corps marksmanship.  This float-type Zero had been machine-gunned several days before the landing by attacking U.S. planes.  The Japanese pulled the damaged ship ashore and turned it over on its back.
