80-G-239320:   Invasion of Tinian, July-August 1944.    U.S. Marines set off a dynamite charge blowing a Japanese dugout to pieces on Tinian.  Sailing high into the air, is the helmet (left) of a soldier who refused to surrender, although the island fell to the Second and Fourth Marine Divisions days before, released August 5, 1944.    Official U.S. Navy photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.  (2017/03/07).
