26-G-2046:  Operation Avalanche,  September 1943.  Coast Guardsman Talks It Over With Prisoners.  Somewhere in the Mediterranean, Coast Guardsman Earl Sauter talks to a wistful pair of young German prisoners onboard a Coast Guard manned transport en-route to a North African port.  The Germans were captured in the fighting around Salerno.  Coast Guardsman Sauter is a Chief Pharmacist’s Mate.
