80-G-42771:  Boatswain’s Mate  First Class Roy B. Dowling, USN, Navy Cross.    Naval Operating Base, Norfolk, Virginia, Roy B. Dowling, now a Chief Boatswain’s Mate, USNR, is decorated with the Navy Cross for his actions in the assault on and occupation of French Morocco.  The decoration is pinned on him by Vice Admiral Alexander Sharp, USN, Commander, Service Force, U.S. Atlantic Force.    Released August 21, 1943.
