80-G-62015:  Mrs. James A. Dempsey, Ship’s Sponsor of USS Dempsey (DE 26), (left), Rear Admiral Robert A. Theobald, USN, (center), and Mrs. Mary Wintle, Ship’s Sponsor of USS Wintle (DE 25), (right), at the Boston Navy Yard, Boston, Massachusetts, for the christening and launching of both destroyer escorts on April 22, 1943. Wintle was named after Lieutenant Commander Jack W. Wintle who was killed on board USS San Francisco (CA 38) during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal in November 1942.
