Insignia plaque: 20th Naval Construction Regiment
Title: Insignia plaque: 20th Naval Construction Regiment
Caption: This insignia was received by the Naval History Division in 1967, one year after NCR 20 was recommissioned. Correspondence from the regiment described the insignia as follows: "Traditionally, Seabees are born and bread Navy men, hence the traditional fighter-builder Seabee "Bee" with his weapons; rifle and hammer, riding the Navy's most vehicle, the Polaris. This missile is considered a suitable quick reaction symbol for the modern, highly mobile, and versatile Seabee. The stars represent the three Seabee centers."
