Description: Drawing prepared by the Bureau of Ships for a camouflage scheme intended for light cruisers of the CL-51 class. This plan, dated 21 December 1943, shows the ship's starboard side, stern, superstructure ends and exposed decks. It was approved by Captain Henry A. Ingram, USN. USS San Diego (CL-53) and USS Reno (CL-96) are known to have worn this camouflage design, though San Diego was painted in darker tones than shown here. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
