Description: An American Liberty ship, apparently destined to be sunk as part of a Gooseberry breakwater, is pulled into position off Omaha Beach by the U.S. Army tug ST-759. This Liberty ship is very rusty aft, possibly indicating fire damage. Other vessels in the background include: USS LCI(L)-86 (center); British LCT-930 (right) and British LCT-763 (extreme right). Photograph received by the Naval Photographic Science Laboratory on 21 November 1944. It was actually taken in June of that year. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
