![The U.S. Navy’s nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) slices through the waters of the eastern Atlantic Ocean, February 3, 1996. Commanded by Captain Malcolm P. Branch, USS George Washington left her homeport of Norfolk, Virginia, on January 26th for a scheduled six month deployment to the Mediterranean. Once on station with Commander Sixth Fleet, she will patrol the waters of the Adriatic in support of NATO Peace Keeping Operation Joint Endeavor.
