Caption: Is serviced aboard USS FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT (CVB-42), during tests off the Virginia Capes in 1946. The pilot was Lieutenant Colonel Marion E. Carl, USMC. Released 12 November 1946. Note use of special truck for jet fuel. Carriers at that time only carried aviation gasoline.
