Title: Adelante
Description: (American Tug, ex-Yacht, 1883) In port circa 1914-17, prior to her World War I naval service. She had previously been the yacht Oneida, which was originally named Utowana. Acquired by the Navy on 25 August 1918, she was later commissioned as USS Adelante (SP-765). After the completion of her Navy service, she was stricken on 27 September 1919 and sold on 25 March 1920. Note the towing fittings on her afterdeck. The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
