Title: Jessamine
Description: (American Motor Boat, 1907) Photographed prior to her World War I Naval service. This pleasure craft was ordered delivered to the Navy on 19 May 1917 and placed in commission on 14 June of that year as USS Jessamine (SP-438). Renamed SP-438 in 1918, she spent her entire Navy career in the Detroit, Michigan, area. Transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard on 2 December 1919 and renamed Javelin, she continued to be based at Detroit until sold on 31 July 1922. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
