Description: (American Steam Yacht, 1905) Photographed in port, prior to her World War I era Naval service. The photograph has been roughly retouched to indicate Cigarette's mast and to note a mast belonging to another craft. This yacht, owned by C.A. Wood of Cambridge, Massachusetts, was acquired by the Navy on 17 September 1917 and commissioned two days later as USS Cigarette (SP-1234), but appears to have been in active Naval service for some months previously. She was sold on 29 October 1920. The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
