Title: Knickerbocker
Description: (U.S. harbor tug, 1873) Photographed about the time she was taken over by the Navy. Rebuilt in 1904, she was acquired for Navy service on 5 May 1917 and commissioned on 22 September 1917 as USS Knickerbocker (SP-479). She was stricken on 16 March 1918 because of her poor condition, but a shortage of tugs caused her to be soon reinstated. She was finally stricken by the Navy on 15 February 1919 and sold on 18 February 1919. The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
