Description: (Motor Boat, 1911) At the Boston Navy Yard, Charlestown, Massachusetts, circa 1917. This pleasure craft was acquired by the Navy for World War I service and commissioned on 15 April 1917 as USS Politesse (SP-662). She was returned to her owner on 29 May 1919. Note Pennsylvania Railroad cars in the background. The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
