Description: (American Freighter, 1901) In port during World War I. This steamer, built in England in 1901, was acquired by the Navy and commissioned on 1 October 1918 as USS Satsuma (ID # 2038). She was returned to her owner, the New York & Oriental Steam Ship Company, on 31 January 1919. The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
