Title: USS Sayona II (SP-1109)
Description: In a Fifth Naval District port, circa 1917-1919. The motor boat Sayona II, built in 1907, was acquired by the Navy and commissioned on 3 August 1917. Following World War I service she was returned to her owner on 30 December 1918. The boat at left appears to be USS Idylease (SP-119), which served in the Fifth Naval District. Note ice on the water.
