Caption: WHALING CITY (U.S. Fishing Vessel, 1936). Shown before Naval service in World War II, hauled out for repairs. She was acquired by the Navy on October 30, 1940 and commissioned on June 12, 1941 as USS HUMMINGBIRD (Amc-26). She was reclassified as a small boat (C-13548) on June 12, 1944 and was turned over to WSA for disposal on June 23, 1945.
