Description: (American Harbor Tug, 1898) In port, possibly when inspected by the Fifth Naval District on 5 December 1917. Built by Thomas McCluskey of Baltimore, Maryland, in 1898, this tug was owned by the American Towing and Lighterage Company of Baltimore. Assigned registry ID # 3241, she was ordered acquired by the Navy on 8 August 1918, but appears not to have actually been taken over. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
