Description: (Destroyer # 63) Scale model on exhibit in the Navy Memorial Museum, Building 76, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C., circa 1973-1975. The model, owned by the Naval Sea Systems Command, is in 1/4 inch = 1 foot scale. This view looks south-westward in the western part of the Museum's front half. At the time this photograph was taken, the Sampson model was one of several ship models on display in this part of the building, along with an exhibit of World War I artworks by Vernon Howe Bailey.
