Description: (T-AP-127) Soldiers lunching in the ship's troop mess hall. The ship had just been redecorated to improve comfort for military personnel and their families traveling to Germany. Enhancements in the mess hall included new recessed flourescent lighting and a new paint job. This refurbishment probably occurred in the mid or late 1950s.
