Description: Scene on an Iwo Jima landing beach, shortly after the 19 February 1945 invasion. The broken ground at right indicates that this is the Blue Beach area. Note the LCMs broached in the surf (that at left is from USS Belle Grove, LSD-2), as well as the LVTs and other vehicles in the beach area and inland.
