Description: (Armored Cruiser # 8, ex-Maryland) Painted in pattern camouflage, circa 1918 or early 1919. The original print carried the following hand-written inscription: This is the picture I promised to send, Louise. Sorry the colors don't show. Of course the black shows up. The other picture, I think you have in a smaller size. (see Photo # NH 106682 for this other picture.) By the way, we who have had enough service in, have to wear a little V shaped gold braid chevron to distinguish from those in training camps etc. Donation of Charles R. Haberlein Jr., 2009.
