Caption: The schooner SARATOGA, Captain Charles W. Wooster, 16-gun and 140 men, beating to windward from La Guayra, Venesuela, met the British Merchant brig Rachel from Greeneck Mounting 12 long mines and with a crew of 60 men, and carrying a cargo invoiced at 15.000, $75,000 in gold, which she captured and sent the second mate and 25 seaman ashore in the brigs long boat.
