Title: USS DELAWARE figurehead - Tamanend: Left side, 3/4 view
Caption: Wooden model of the figurehead Tamanend, Chief of the Delaware Indians, from USS DELAWARE. It was used as the pattern for a mold to create a bronze replica at the Naval Gun Factory. The figurehead has been incorrectly called by several names, among them Tecumseh. Both the original and its bronze replica cast from the mold are (in 1967) located at the Naval Academy.
