Caption: Instrument employed aboard ship to determine the nocturnal hours (front side) and the corrections in altitudes of the pole (back) to obtain the latitude. This example is prepared for use with the stars Ursae Minoris (Kochab) and Ursae Majoris (Dubhe), and belonged to the former Escuala de Nautica de (School of Seamanship of) Arenys de Mar.
