Caption: Captain F. Kent Loomis, USN (Ret.) Assistant Director of Naval History and the Right Reverend Francis B. Sayre, Jr. Dean of the Washington National Cathedral, open a crate containing an engraved granite stone for the reconstruction of the Cathedral. The stone was sent to Washington, D.C. from all hands at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in appreciation of the Dean's Visit to the United States Naval Station in Cuba. Dean Sayre is a past Navy Chaplain and served aboard the USS SAN FRANCISCO (CA-38). The granite stone is engraved with "GITMO". November 27, 1964, Washington, D.C.
