Title: NC-3 Trans ATLANTIC Flight -1919
Caption: Oil on cardboard, 17" x 23" . NC-3 left Trepassy Bay, NFLD., with NC-1 and NC-4 on the night of 16 May 1919. The three planes had departed from NAS Rockaway on 8 May. Only NC-4 made the Trans-Atlantic Flite successfully, reaching the Azores by air on 17 May. After a layover of 10 days, NC-4 covered the last leg of the crossing to Lisbon. Lt. Ruttan accompanied the Navy Trans-Atlantic Flight Expedition
Description: Date of painting : Before 1920; because it was print in color in the Navy's booklet "Morale: The Navy 's Tans-Atlantic Flight" appearing in 1919.
