Caption: Survivors of H.M. Transport DWINSK. In the early morning of June 21, 1918, the Transport USS SIBONEY (SP-2999) sighted two lifeboats adrift in Lat. 39 05' N, Long. 65 35' W. A total of 46 survivors of the sinking of the British Transport DWINSK were picked up from the boats, which were subsequently set adrift. This photograph shows the occupants of the first boat boarding the SIBONEY. Photographed by Machinist John G. Krieger, USN, of the USS SIBONEY, and donated by him in 1967.
