Caption: Commodore Decatur avenging the murder of his brother. Copied from a sketch in book, "The Life and Character of Stephen Decatur". Commodore Decatur whilst bearing a prize from the harbour, hears of the treacherous murder of his brother by a Turk (the Turk having surrendered) in a moment changes his course, and with 10 men for his crew seeks his enemy-- rushes-- on board- and after a desperate struggle, with numbers far superior, kills the Turk- captures his enemy's boat - and again retreats from the harbour.
