Caption: Captain Donaldson, USA, to Mineola, New York, ready to "Hop Off" for Canada when signal is given. Canadian contestants took to the air at the same time, at a signal from the Prince of Wales. The course was a round trip, the contestants returning to their original starting point, a distance of 1042 miles. Prizes ranging from $10,000 down were offered.
