Title: The Birthplace of John Paul Jones
Caption: The Paul cottage from the farm road, on Arbigland, an estate owned by William Craik in Kirkbean, eastern most parish of the Lordship of Galloway, in Kirkcudbrightshire. Jones' father was the estate's gardner. The original cottage had only three rooms. A newer section was added in the mid 1800s and is identifiable by the higher roof ridge. Photo taken May 1966.
