Title: "Charles W. Flusser, USN."
Description: Photo #: NH 49568 Charles W. Flusser, USN. Civil War era officer, in a uniform similar to that of a U.S. Navy Master, pattern of 1852-62, but with shoulder straps that look like the pattern of 1862-63 and a cap device with one anchor and a shield. The identification of this photograph, though of long-standing, is very questionable. Though Flusser served in the rank of Master in 1855, the style of the image and details of the uniform do not support that date.
