Title: Sloop J.T. LEONARD
Caption: Last of the round bottom topmast sloops left on the Chesapeake Bay under her original rig. She was built on Taylor's Island on the Eastern Shore in 1882 and is the last true representative of a large fleet of this type of vessel, employed mainly in oyster dredging, although some carried lumber, watermelons, and other farm produce to markets in Baltimore. The sloop is located at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, St. Michaels, Maryland.
