Caption: Salvage operations, 1961-1965, in the Yazoo River, Mississippi, where she was sunk by a Confederate mine on 12 December 1862. Cook stove from CAIRO, salvaged in August-December 1964. It carried the inscription, "Southern Belle." At left can be seen three of the ship's five boilers.
