Title: USS BRANDYWINE
Caption: 44 gun frigate built at Washington Navy Yard. Commenced building in 1821, launched 17 June 1825. Length 175 feet, 1768 tons, destroyed by fire at Norfolk, Virginia, on 3 September 1864. First cruise was to France under command of Commodore Chas Morris, carrying General Lafayette home after his last visit to the United States.
