Caption: This insignia was received by the Naval History Division in 1959. It reflects the net laying mission of the ship with the net-like design just below the figure of the bull. The bull's white horns represent the two net-laying horns on the NAHANT's bow. The Latin phrase, "Non Transibunt," translated "They Shall Not Pass," describes the purpose of net warfare.
