Photo #: NH 64855 Toulon, France
Title: Toulon, France
Description: Coaling Station and other harbor facilities, taken by a USS Catoctin (AGC-5) photographer on 29 August 1944. The sunken French destroyers Aigle, Vautour, L'Indomptable, Cassard and Tartu are nearest the camera, (listed from center to right). They were scuttled by the French Navy on 27 November 1942 to prevent seizure by the Germans. The rough chart in the lower right identifies other elements of the harbor.
