Caption: Insignia adopted in 1954 after a design contest within Mine Division 33 (MINDIV 33). The grinning design animating the floats stems from the way the floats of the original unit, Minesweeping Boat Division One, were painted during the Korean War. The motto, "We lead the fleet," describes the mission of minesweeping launches. Photographed in 1968.
