Caption: "Portrait of the stern of the QUEEN CHARLOTTE that was unfortunately burnt on the 17th of March 1800, in Leghorn Roads." HMS QUEEN CHARLOTTE, a first rate, was built in 1790 and destroyed by explosion in 1800. Woodcut by Bentham, from a drawing by Pocock. Published in the "Naval Chronicle," Volume 10, 1803, by J. Gold, London. (Note: the engraver's name on the plate is Berryman; Bentham is the name cited in the magazine's list of illustrations.)
